چکیده

Cancer is one of the diseases that became a social problem can happen with uncontrolled proliferation, growth, differentiation, and spread cells in our body. Breast cancer, on other hand, types cancer highest incidence women. In study, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress induced by thapsigargin (T) MCF-7 then, effects Sideritis akmanii acetone extract (SAE) cell viability, ER stress, inflammation, DNA damage were investigated. The MTT [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide] test was used to determine effect SAE cytotoxicity comet (SCGE; single-cell gel electrophoresis) assay for genotoxicity. Additionally, mRNA expression levels both parameters (ATF4: activating transcription factor 4, ATF6: 6, PERK: protein kinase RNA-like kinase, GRP78: glucose-regulated 78) inflammation-related (TNF alpha: tumor necrosis factor-alpha, IFN-gamma: interferon-gamma, IL-6: interleukin-6, IL-8: interleukin-8, IL-12: interleukin-12) determined qPCR. results showed increased as result T treatment, caused decreased when low dose administered high further levels. It SAE, different doses or alone experimental groups, all inflammatory genes compared control group. As result, it has been S. akmanii, especially at doses, may exhibit anticarcinogenic through its genotoxic, cytotoxic, cells.

Endoplasmic reticulum calcium release potentiates the ER stress and cell death caused by an oxidative stress in MCF-7 cells.

Increase in cytosolic calcium concentration ([Ca2+](c)), release of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) calcium ([Ca2+](er)) and ER stress have been proposed to be involved in oxidative toxicity. Nevertheless, their relative involvements in the processes leading to cell death are not well defined. In this study, we investigated whether oxidative stress generated during ascorbate-driven menadione redox c...

Comparative Protective Effects of Viola Spathulata, Urtica Dioica, and Lamium Album on Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) Stress in Rat Stroke Model

Background: Pathological conditions, including ischemic stroke, are associated with severe Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) stress that induces apoptosis and cell death. Herbal medicines are natural treatments with few side effects in such situations. Objectives: In the present study, we examined the probable neuroprotective effects of Viola spathulata, Lamium album, and Urtica dioica on splicing of...

Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress, Genome Damage, and Cancer

Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress has been linked to many diseases, including cancer. A large body of work has focused on the activation of the ER stress response in cancer cells to facilitate their survival and tumor growth; however, there are some studies suggesting that the ER stress response can also mitigate cancer progression. Despite these contradictions, it is clear that the ER stress r...

Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress & diabetes.

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a central organelle entrusted with lipid synthesis, protein folding and protein maturation. It is endowed with a quality control system that facilitates the recognition and targeting of aberrant proteins for degradation. When the capacity of this quality control system is exceeded, a stress response (ER stress) is switched on. Prolonged stress leads to apoptosi...

Endoplasmic reticulum stress and inflammation.

Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress due to the presence of misfolded or unfolded proteins in the ER invokes a fundamental biological response, termed the unfolded protein response (UPR). The UPR is orchestrated by three main proximal effectors, of which the IRE1/XBP1 pathway represents the evolutionarily most conserved one. Due to its high secretory burden, the intestinal epithelium is highly sus...
